I've been an avid railfan, photographer of prototype and model railroads, and modeller most of my life. I began in HO scale, both standard and narrow gauge, but now, that I have the room, I'm building a large garden railroad that is loosely based on the Indian Valley Railroad and the Western Pacific - of course, it will have a Keddie Wye! On these pages I'm going to share my photos - some go back to the early 50s when steam was still king in switch yards. Over the years I've photographed many western railroads and have detailed photos of many unique and one-off rolling stock. I'm also going to share the building of my Indian Valley Railroad. I'm also going to share some of the resources and tips that have helped me over the years. Finally, I'll be sharing product reviews of things I've purchased or plan on purchasing soon. |

I created this website to share my good fortune with you. I live within minutes of the Keddie Wye and Western Pacific's (now BNSF) Feather River Route. In an hour I can be at the Western Pacific Museum in Portola. The shortline, Indian Valley Railroad used to run through my valley. As I travel towards Keddie I can see the remnants of the roadbed of this copper ore hauling shortline. Many times during the day I hear the northbound or southbound BNSF freights rumbling up and down the canyon over the hill from me. It's an absolutely wonderful place for a railfan, photographer and modeller to be.
